Built in Sherwood Park, Alberta
A receptionist for the calls a busy shop can’t get to.
HeyDiane is an AI receptionist for Alberta service businesses — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, restoration, and the trades around them. Diane answers the calls you miss, books the job, triages the emergencies, and texts you the lead before the caller dials the next shop on the list.
Why it’s one founder, not a call centre
HeyDiane is built and run by Jared Ohman through The Human Frequency Inc., out of Sherwood Park, Alberta. The whole idea started from a simple, expensive problem every shop owner knows: the calls you miss are the jobs you lose. A new customer who can’t get through doesn’t leave a voicemail — they call the next number.
So Diane isn’t a generic bot you plug in and hope for the best. I configure each one personally — your service area, your callout fees, what counts as a real emergency, where the urgent calls get routed — and I stay on the hook for the result. That’s a real constraint, which is why the founding cohort is capped at first 5 Alberta shops only: I can only onboard so many shops by hand and do it properly.
You hear Diane work before you pay a cent. Start a 7-day free trial, no credit card on your real number; on day seven I send you the report — calls answered, jobs booked, emergencies caught. If she isn’t earning her place, you walk away and owe nothing.
What we take seriously
Canadian data, Canadian rules
Call recordings and caller details are handled under PIPEDA on Canadian-hosted infrastructure — your clients' numbers and addresses never need to cross the border. Diane discloses she's AI on request and follows CRTC call-handling norms.
SOC 2 voice infrastructure
Diane runs on Retell's SOC 2-audited voice platform with Twilio telephony — the same calibre of infrastructure the enterprise answering services use, configured for one Alberta shop at a time.
Built for Alberta trades, not everyone
Diane is trained on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical language and on what an Alberta emergency actually is — a −30 °C no-heat call is a two-hour window, not a next-day appointment. That focus is the whole point.
